About
Joe Cull is a film and television editor with over a decade of experience across scripted drama in the UK and the US. My work is grounded in collaboration, clarity of story and rhythm, and a belief that strong editorial choices grow out of openness and curiosity.
Across the projects I’ve worked on, directors and colleagues have described my process as collaborative, thoughtful and adaptable, with a sharp eye for story and rhythm and a positive presence in the edit suite.
My credits include the BBC thriller The Listeners, starring Rebecca Hall, Netflix’s Who Is Erin Carter?, and Season 28 & 29 of Silent Witness. I’ve also served as Assembly Editor on ITV’s Without Sin and assisted on a number of productions, including Blonde and Landscapers. Most recently I edited Season 2 of Ellis for Channel 5. I’m a member of British Film Editors (BFE).
My aim is to bring clarity and depth to every cut, understanding narrative not just as technical construction but as emotional articulation, shaping performances and story in ways that feel natural and compelling. I’m committed to working in a way that is responsive to notes, supportive to teams, and attuned to the evolving needs of each project.
Away from the edit suite, I value collaboration, long conversations about story, and the balance that comes from stepping outside my work, whether that’s time spent playing tennis, walking my dog Lila, or simply recharging between projects.
Joe is represented by Independent Talent.
